6 Hull Street

6 Hull Street is a five-unit apartment building in Boston's North End, on a lane named for the colonial silversmith John Hull and laid out in the early 1700s. Family-owned and operated by DJ Realty Management since 1950 — no broker fees.

Three 1-bedroom layouts and two upper-floor studios. Hot water included in rent; the garden-level unit has a private patio.

The Building

Named for a colonial silversmith.

Hull Street takes its name from John Hull, a colonial silversmith, and the streets in this corner of the North End have been on city maps since the early 1700s. The block sits beside Copp's Hill Burying Ground (1660) and is home to the famously narrow Skinny House — one of the most photographed buildings in Boston.

Five renovated apartments — three 1-bedrooms (including a garden-level unit with a private patio) and two studios on the upper floors. Amazon Key keyless entry and 24/7 surveillance cameras in the common areas, with hot water included in your rent. A walk-everywhere block, with the Old North Church across Salem Street and Hanover Street a few blocks east.

The Neighborhood

Live in Boston's Little Italy without "commuting" to it.

6 Hull Street sits on one of the North End's most history-soaked lanes — the Old North Church is just across Salem Street, and Copp's Hill Burying Ground (1660) is at the top of the hill. Hanover Street is a few blocks east for the neighborhood's most-loved cafés, bakeries, and dinner spots.

FAQ

How do I apply?+

Apply online directly through our website — no broker, no in-person visit required. You'll need proof of income (last two pay stubs or offer letter), photo ID, and a credit check authorization. Lease signing happens electronically through our secure portal.

What do I pay at lease signing?+

First month, last month, security deposit, and a $50 application fee per applicant. No broker fee, no amenity fee, no other surprises.

Do you allow pets?+

Pets are reviewed case-by-case rather than blanket-approved or denied. Reach out and we'll talk through breed, weight, and number.

Which units have private outdoor space?+

Unit B, the garden-level apartment, has a private patio. None of the upper units have private outdoor space.

What utilities are included at 6 Hull Street?+

Hot water is included in your rent — one less bill to track each month. Tenants pay their own heat, electric, and gas.

Is there an elevator at 6 Hull Street?+

No. 6 Hull Street is a walk-up. Unit 1 is on the first floor, Unit 4 is the top-floor studio, and Unit B is the garden-level (basement) apartment with a private patio.

How does Amazon Key entry work?+

Every DJ Realty building uses Amazon Key for keyless entry. You and trusted Amazon couriers get access through the Amazon Key app, so your packages land safely inside the building entryway instead of on the sidewalk.

Are the buildings monitored?+

Yes. All DJ Realty buildings have surveillance cameras recording 24/7. Footage is reviewed only when there's a reported incident.

Who handles maintenance requests?+

Our in-house construction team. We have a Licensed Construction Supervisor and Licensed Real Estate Broker on staff, with a full-time crew based in the North End. For non-emergency requests, we respond by email or text within 1 to 24 hours. For emergencies (water, heat, security), we respond 24/7.

What's the lease length?+

Standard leases are 12 months. We do offer some flexibility for academic-year leases (9-10 months) on select units — ask if that's what you need.

Can I tour remotely or apply from out of state?+

Yes. Many of our tenants apply before they're physically in Boston. We do video tours, accept remote applications, and handle electronic lease signing. You don't need to be in Boston until move-in day.

What's the parking situation?+

Tenants are eligible for a City of Boston resident on-street parking permit in the North End. The building does not have off-street parking.
