470 Commercial Street

470 Commercial Street is an eight-unit apartment building on Boston's North End waterfront, directly across from Langone Park and freshly renovated top-to-bottom, common areas included. Family-owned and operated by DJ Realty Management since 1950 — no broker fees.

A boutique mix of seven studios and a one-bedroom with A/C and water view. Amazon Key keyless entry, 24/7 surveillance cameras, and a dishwasher in every unit.

The Building

Freshly renovated, with the park right across the street.

470 Commercial Street sits on the harbor side of the North End, where Commercial Street curves toward the water. Langone Park and Puopolo Playground are directly across the street — bocce courts, basketball courts, a public pool, and open fields — green space that's genuinely rare in this neighborhood.

The whole place was recently renovated, common areas included, so the entry and hallways feel as updated as the apartments themselves. FAQ

How do I apply?+

Apply online directly through our website — no broker, no in-person visit required. You'll need proof of income (last two pay stubs or offer letter), photo ID, and a credit check authorization. Lease signing happens electronically through our secure portal.

What do I pay at lease signing?+

First month, last month, security deposit, and a $50 application fee per applicant. No broker fee, no amenity fee, no other surprises.

Do you allow pets?+

Pets are reviewed case-by-case rather than blanket-approved or denied. Reach out and we'll talk through breed, weight, and number.

Was the building actually renovated?+

Yes. 470 Commercial Street was renovated top-to-bottom recently, including the common areas. Hallways, entry, and shared spaces feel as updated as the apartments themselves.

Which units have A/C?+

Unit 2 (the one-bedroom) has A/C. The building doesn't have building-wide central air; A/C in that unit is unit-specific.

Which units have a water view?+

Units 2, 4, and 6 have water views. The building sits on the harbor side of the North End, with Boston Harbor visible from select windows.

What utilities are included at 470 Commercial Street?+

Tenants pay their own heat, electric, and gas. Hot water is included in select units — ask which unit you're interested in and we'll confirm.

Is there an elevator at 470 Commercial Street?+

No. 470 Commercial Street is an eight-story walk-up. Each unit is on its own floor — Unit 1 is on the first floor and Unit 8 is on the top floor.

What's across the street?+

Langone Park and Puopolo Playground are directly across Commercial Street — bocce courts, basketball courts, a public pool, ball fields, and play areas. Green space access like this is rare in the North End.

How does Amazon Key entry work?+

Every DJ Realty building uses Amazon Key for keyless entry. You and trusted Amazon couriers get access through the Amazon Key app, so your packages land safely inside the building entryway instead of on the sidewalk.

Are the buildings monitored?+

Yes. All DJ Realty buildings have surveillance cameras recording 24/7. Footage is reviewed only when there's a reported incident.

Who handles maintenance requests?+

Our in-house construction team. We have a Licensed Construction Supervisor and Licensed Real Estate Broker on staff, with a full-time crew based in the North End. For non-emergency requests, we respond by email or text within 1 to 24 hours. For emergencies (water, heat, security), we respond 24/7.

What's the lease length?+

Standard leases are 12 months. We do offer some flexibility for academic-year leases (9-10 months) on select units — ask if that's what you need.

Can I tour remotely or apply from out of state?+

Yes. Many of our tenants apply before they're physically in Boston. We do video tours, accept remote applications, and handle electronic lease signing. You don't need to be in Boston until move-in day.

What's the parking situation?+

Tenants are eligible for a City of Boston resident on-street parking permit in the North End. The building does not have off-street parking.

Want to see it in person?
